HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR BODY THROUGH YOUR FIRST TRIMESTER

Congratulations on falling pregnant! (insert squeal here)

We are so excited for you but we understand, especially if this is your first pregnancy, there are plenty of questions and concerns as you travel down this new path of motherhood. We have designed this section especially for you, to support your knowledge about Trimester 1 as well as supporting your growing body, as now, you will start to feel some change.

What should I be eating?

At this stage of your pregnancy, you will want to feed your body wholefood fibre so you can poop (hormones may stop that natural need to poop) high energy foods with good sources of iron zinc and magnesium.

The planning stage

Once you have worked out what foods are making you feel supported it’s great to start thinking about finding a support team of health workers that can give you confidence for the rest of your pregnancy. It is also a great idea at this early stage of your pregnancy to get some blood work to determine what month bub will be due.

Beginning to change

There is no hard and fast rule on how you feel. 95% of expecting mothers feel sensitive, sore breasts, bloated, sense of smell improves, taste buds are off and most often you just feel like something has changed.

This is all ok.
