As a Doula, Gabriella observes the increasing pressures new mums are going through. Expectations set by parents, friends, and society. It is important to be informed, educated, and hold an understanding that every bub is different, trust your motherly instincts, they will guide you down the right path for you.

What should I be eating?

We recommend sipping Mummalyte to keep your hydration up and a daily breastfeeding smoothie to ensure your milky supply is flowing ready for bub.

The Emotions

It is common for mothers to feel postpartum anxiety and overwhelm. Often these feelings are hormonal and a great naturopath can help you.

Your mind and body are going through some pretty big changes, so always remember to give yourself a break. It will be ok.

If you ever feel like it is getting too much, always ask for help, from a family member health care worker or even our community of mummas who are here to support you in any way we can.

Breastfeeding Routine

To help the milk come in, hand expressing is the easiest and most efficient. Plan to pump 8-10 times in a 24-hour period. Once you have reached full milk production, maintain a schedule that continues producing about 25-35oz of breastmilk in a 24-hour period.

Be aware your milk supply will change as demand grows so hang in there Mumma.
